  • The announcement was made today by the Governor of the province, Alfredo Cornejo, along with Federico Ostropolsky, President of the Mendoza Business Council (CEM), and Silvia Jardel, General Manager of CEM.

The gathering, taking place on March 3, will bring together business leaders from the Energy, Tourism, Transport, Agribusiness, Viticulture, ICT, and Industrial sectors. Its primary goal is to promote Mendoza as a destination for domestic and foreign investment in strategic sectors. National and Provincial Government officials will also participate.

Mendoza, February 9, 2017. – Within the framework of the National Grape Harvest Festival, the Mendoza Business Council (CEM), in partnership with the ProMendoza Foundation, will host the First Mendoza Investment Forum 2017, endorsed by the Argentina Investment and International Trade Agency. The event will gather local, national, and international business leaders from strategic sectors such as Viticulture, Tourism, ICT, Healthcare, Transport & Logistics, Food & Beverage, Manufacturing, Energy & Mining, Water, and Infrastructure, alongside top public sector officials. The event will be held on Friday, March 3, from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM at the Diplomatic Hotel in Mendoza City.

The objective of the forum is to help position Mendoza as an investment destination in strategic areas for the Province, promoting the creation of high-quality jobs within the framework of balanced and diversified provincial economic development.

The Province possesses the resources and potential to grow in the coming years, based on strong institutional stability, qualified human resources, and a privileged geopolitical location on the central bioceanic corridor with air and land connectivity. Its world-renowned wine industry has driven tourism, but this is not its only successful industry: there is significant potential in energy, oil, technology, metalworking, and mining, among other sectors. Furthermore, education levels are high—with eight universities in the province—making human capital a key success factor for local ventures.

“The best way to showcase investment opportunities and Mendoza’s potential is through real success stories—stories of entrepreneurs who overcame challenges and became fundamental pieces of the provincial fabric. The possibility of realizing new projects and business deals is a way to contribute to the province’s growth with options that diversify the local productive matrix,” stated Federico Ostropolsky, President of CEM.

In this regard, the Mendoza Business Council, through the Investment Forum, seeks to facilitate contact between investors, local officials, and qualified business owners with investments based in Mendoza, providing an opportunity to receive information and establish personal ties in an agile and direct manner.

The event’s main purpose is to promote Mendoza as a destination for domestic and foreign investment, placing the province in a prominent position on Argentina’s productive map. This forum represents a concrete and unique contribution by the Mendoza Business Council to provincial development. Adding to its regular studies, publications, and technical reports, this initiative provides a new specific arena to discuss competitiveness and development agendas for the coming years, while also bridging the gap between developing projects and the financing tools needed to realize them.

The day will feature keynote panels led by prominent national and provincial officials and business leaders; working tables with government authorities; corporate networking; and pre-scheduled meetings between executives and officials.

“The private sector has a long history in Mendoza as a driving force of the economy. The Mendoza Investment Forum 2017 seeks to help realize new projects that contribute to the development and diversification of the provincial economy, creating an environment that facilitates contact, knowledge, and decision-making for relevant actors in both investment and financing,” assured Federico Ostropolsky.
